Flowers, Tractor, Horse and Thanks cakes

Sometimes we'll have someone call up and just want a cake to munch on.That's the case with this flower cake and the horse cake. The tractor cake was a birthday cake for a 2 year old and the"Thanks" was to thank Kalah for her help.

Monitor, Tractor, Turtle and Dukes of Hazard cakes

The tractor cake was for cousin Eddie from his grandkids . The monitor cake was for the nurses at the NICU in Northport. Thanks for taking care of our grand-daughter Kendall. The turtle cake was for a little girl my daughter kept.

This "Dukes of Hazard" cake served 54 and as you can tell, Houston is a big fan of the General Lee.

Craft-Busby Wedding

Ah!We were so excited about doing this wedding cake. We love to do cakes, but there is something about a wedding cake. Maybe its the fact that we were asked to share in their special day. This cake was a three tier stacked vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The letter "B" and a single stargazer lily topped the cake with small carnations and stargazer buds cascading down the side with a shell border. It served 200 people. The thrill of seeing the finished product and the looks on the bride and grooms faces is so gratifying. Congratulations. Thanks to granddaddy for watching the grandkids.

Fox Racing cake

This grooms cake was vanilla and buttercream icing, and the outline in fondant. It served 60-70 people. The groom is a big fan of Fox Racing and we were happy to accommodate him.

Multi-color Birthday Girl Cake

This cake was made for a special little girl in the family. She turned 9 this year. She picked out the colors and wanted layers. Dessert Mom took that idea and ran with it with multi-colored layers, polka dots, and tie-dye fondant bow. It was vanilla cake and buttercream icing. It fed about 100-125 people. She loved it.

Flowers, Butterflies, and a Rainbow

Happy Birthday, Brooke! Brooke is a big 6 year old this year. She wanted flowers, butterflies, and a rainbow. I wasn't sure how to incorporate all of these requests on such short notice, but it turned out pretty cute, I think. Brooke seemed to like it. The cake was your typical vanilla cake, and the icing, rainbow, clouds, and most flowers were vanilla buttercream. Homemade fondant was used on the butterflies and a few flowers. I couldn't have done this cake without my friend (you know who you are).

Modern Baby Shower Cake

This cake was decorated for a young lady who was expecting her first baby. Welcome to the world, Kinley! The belly and boobies were also cake. They were placed on a large sheet cake. All the cake was vanilla with vanilla buttercream. This cake served about 70 people. Congratulations!

Topsy Turvy - Carly

This was our first attempt on a topsy-turvy cake. The picture doesn't really show the shape well. It was a niece/granddaughter's birthday in April 2008. She loved it. We used vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream, and fondant. She picked the colors, of course, and did a great job. This served 70-80 people and has a two-colored fondant bow on top.

Tom & Jerry Cake

Michael is old school! Hard to believe he was only turning 3. He loves Tom & Jerry and asked for a Tom & Jerry party. This cake was 54 servings. Dessert Mother drew this on the cake freehand. She did a great job, right?! It was vanilla cake and buttercream icing. We used a shell border on this one.

Camp Rock Cake

Karli loves Camp Rock. This cake was about 35 servings and was vanilla cake and buttercream icing. This one was made in January 2009. We really enjoyed making this one, and if you could zoom in to the word "CAMP" you'd see the wood grain detail on the letters. We used the rope border on this one.

Wizards of Waverly Place Cake

My niece loves Wizards of Waverly Place on Disney. Anybody that does cakes knows how hard it is to do faces and live characters on a cake. My mom and I came up with a little trick on how to capture images on a cake without going to the expense of edible ink and paper for special printers. However, it's our little secret. It's not that hard to figure out, though. Anyway, this cake was done January 2009 and was about 20 servings with the typical vanilla cake and buttercream icing. Delicious!
