Auburn Tigers

Must be an Auburn week this week, at least it has been for us. This cake is inspired by the side of a Tiger. Auburn fan or not, you've got to love the stripes on this one! They turned out so good! This is definitely one way to kick off the New Year and celebrate a 30th birthday, too.
The cake is a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, and feeds about 35-40 people. The tiger stripes are modeling chocolate (which most of you know we love to work with), and all the writing, as well as the tiger orange, is out of buttercream. Happy birthday to Zeb from The Dessert Box, and thanks, Tasha!

Auburn Eagle

Toy Story Inspired Cake

Where do we start?! When Angie called and gave us her idea for this "Toy Story" cake, we couldn't wait to get it done and see her wonderful idea come to life. Of course Woody was the inspiration, so bits of his costume were put together in a vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The hat was rice krispie treats covered with homemade modeling chocolate and the bandana, #6 and cow print were also made from our modeling chocolate. Two dozen sugar cookies were iced with royal icing, dusted with edible gold luster dust and all the kids got to be "sheriff" for the day. Your idea transfered into a great cake, Angie. Happy birthday, Houston!
