We were excited when Cassandra asked us to do a 3-D Dora house with a train for Bridget's 2nd birthday. Where do I start? The train is all cake trimmed in modeling chocolate with laminates of Dora, Boots, and Diego riding in the cars. And of course Swiper is hiding on the porch ready to swipe the #2 candle. The house is vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The roof is rice krispie treats covered in modeling chocolate. The door and the flower pot on the porch were also made of modeling chocolate. The porch is rice krispie treats covered with icing. The cake board is wood, covered with fondant and trimmed with ribbon. The house and train cars were about 75-80 servings of cake, and the roof and porch had about 40 servings of rice krispie treats. We absolutely loved the way this turned out.
